PRESS RELEASE

BODEGA BAY, CALIFORNIA (MARCH 2002) - Mr. Thomas R. Pochari, the publisher and editor of WORLD AFFAIRS MONTHLY, wishes to announce that his new online magazine devoted to reporting and analyzing international news is now available on the internet at

www.worldaffairsmonthly.com

The development of the global economy has made borders and nation-states less relevant to our world; the breakdown of these national demarcations and divisions has in turn led to the development of a global "political village"; and this smaller, more intimate world has compelled the development of news media which present world affairs in a truly objective, global perspective. In short, propaganda which is inspired by nationalist rhetoric may be a thing of the past - for people around the world will simply not believe it is credible.

The world is changing at a breathtaking pace, and it is no longer possible for journalists, analysts, and commentators to apply old ideas and paradigms to understanding our world.

It is no longer possible not only because humanity is facing new and frightening challenges, but because the central division in the world - one billion citizens in the OECD countries and five billion in the "developing world" - appears to be increasing rather than decreasing.

Humanity is on a precipice, and there are clear and unmistakable signs that we are all moving into extremely violent and unpredictable directions.

The world's influential opinion makers - the leaders and policymakers and intellectuals - recognize the dangers that this new world presents to us all, though many are at a loss to describe it. The publisher is in contact with many of these leaders, and will undertake a dialogue with them so that education is upheld as an ideal.

WORLD AFFAIRS MONTHLY will describe this new world, and will not shirk from presenting the frightening truths of the world - the facts and the analysis of these facts with objectivity and integrity.

The publisher invites you to visit the magazine's web site and subscribe.
